The defense contractor operated a specialized Manufacturing Execution System (MES) that managed shop floor operations, quality inspections, and production routing but needed seamless integration with Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management. The upgrade required maintaining traceability for serialized components, synchronizing production status in real-time, and ensuring compliance with Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) requirements while eliminating duplicate data entry between systems.
C. How Dynatuners accomplished the deliverable:
Dynatuners architected a custom integration layer using OData services and batch frameworks to establish bidirectional communication between the MES platform and Dynamics 365 F&O. The solution synchronized production orders, route operations, material consumption, and quality test results in near real-time while maintaining full audit trails required for government contracts. Custom X++ development extended the production module to accommodate specialized routing requirements and lot traceability mandated by defense specifications. The team implemented exception handling and error logging to ensure data integrity, configured role-based security to segregate classified manufacturing data, and optimized SQL queries to handle high-frequency transactional updates from the shop floor without impacting system performance.
