Dynatuners configured the Project Accounting and Service Management modules to support government contracting requirements including cost-plus-fixed-fee and time-and-materials contract types with appropriate fee calculations and billing milestones. Custom project categories were established for direct labor by labor category (engineer levels, technicians, administrative), materials, subcontractors, and other direct costs with validation rules to prevent misclassification. Indirect cost allocation was configured using cost pools and allocation bases to comply with approved indirect rate structures for fringe benefits, overhead, and general and administrative expenses. Integration between Dynamics 365 F&O and Field Service (formerly Projects 360) was implemented through Dataverse enabling work orders created in Field Service to flow as project activities with labor hours, materials consumption, and equipment usage automatically posting to project subledgers. The team developed custom reports for contract funding status, cost-to-complete analysis, and government-required deliverables including SF-1408 and WAWF formats. Security roles were configured to enforce segregation of duties for contract management, time approval, and billing processes meeting Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) internal control requirements.
